Molecular Geobiology Group (MGP), including 15 staffs, 5 post-doctors, 19 PhD students, and 40 master students, is one of the most important teams affiliated with the State Key Laboratory of Biogeology and Environmental Geology in Wuhan campus of China University of Geosciences, and also a world-known team of molecular geobiology. The group aims to explore the interaction and co-evolution between life and environment in Earth history by investigations on the lipid biomarkers among other records, in particular those records diagnostic of microbial functional groups, throughout Precambrian and Phanerozoic.
